TANTRA – Intimacy with the body and mind

Tantra is a quest for spiritual perfection. Its purpose is to achieve complete control of oneself, to attain union with the universality, and the divine aspect within every living being. There is no separation, no duality, Tantra is a path towards unity, oneness.

Tantra Yoga is a holistic approach, and provides practical tools to realize the highest ideals of spirituality in daily life. Instead of separating, dividing and categorizing, the aim of Tantra Yoga is to expand awareness in all states of consciousness. Tantra Yoga provides methodology and tools to arise from ignorance, intolerance, attachment, and selfishness, to free our consciousness from its limitations.

Tantra is universal, which means valid and applicable to each and every one of us, no matter our background, culture, race, believes, health conditions… In this spirit, I believe that yoga and Tantra help us not to change, but rather to reveal and to cultivate our True Nature, our Authentic Self or Universal Essence (whatever you want to name it), already present within us, unifying the complexity of our body-mind-spirit constitution. Wherever we stand in our path, needs, or desires, I believe that we all share one common aspiration: a true connection with ourselves, and others.

To be clear: Tantra asserts that desires are natural, and universal: we all have desires (if not, it means we’re dead…). The constant presence of desire arouses a yearning and love for the desired object. Desires create attachment, and as long as we embody them, we cultivate them, we create responsive patterns, which become with time automatic, obsessive, if not pathological.
People become slaves to their desires (which constitute the lower part of the personality, covering and hiding the Authentic Essence of the Self – who we really are) and fall prey to agitation, loneliness, anxiety, dissatisfaction, selfishness and/or misery.
Tantra Yoga offers practical tools to decondition/deprogram the mind, speaking to the spirit through the body, recreating the lost connection between them. By means of physical posture (asanas), cleansing techniques, breathing exercises (pranayama), contemplation, meditation &visualization (yantras), mantra therapy, (Tantra) Yoga helps to unfold our Divine, or Universal, Nature.
